Weekly Update

Our teams continue to work hard and enjoy the great run of weather we have been having. Some results from last weekend include:

U10 Boys Ajax went 2-0 in this weekend’s Fun Fest Tournament. The goals came from many different players and the boys are getting better every week.

U10 Boys Roma participated in ICYSL Fun Fest Tournament on Saturday winning 2 out of 3 games. Showing nice possession of the ball and good sportsmanship.

U10 Boys Spurs finished off Sunday's game with a 4-2 win over the Merlin Mastermind. The team showed resilience coming back from being down 1-0. Come on you Spurs COYS!

U10 Girls Power played in the ICYSL Fun Fest Tournament this weekend earning a win, a tie and a loss behind sweet goals by Mayu Kim and Theresa Policarpio.

U12 Boys Rovers tied Cranford 1-1. Will look forward to facing them again later in season, next time stronger!

U12 Girls Breakers fought valiantly but couldn't overcome an early 2-1 deficit against Berna on a slow track in Basking Ridge. The team (and coach) can't wait for the return match at Oakwood!

U13 Boys Wolves had a tough match. Once again the boys played an “Ironman” game with no subs but kept the effort up for much of the game. A 2-2 first half ended up being 5-2 loss with two goals being given up in the ending minutes of the game.

U13 Boys Dragons played under grey skies and on a damp Bard Field the beating the visiting Montgomery Panthers 7-1. The Dragons dominated the game and easily outplayed the visitors. The two Dragons strikers scored 3 of the goals, two more came from the midfield wing and two from the central midfield players. Goals coming from all areas of the offense. Everybody contributed to an outstanding performance. Only for an unfortunate deflection in the Dragons six yard box which allowed the visitors to score it would have been a shutout.

U15 Boys Galaxy lost a tough one 5-4 to a very good SPF team in a game dedicated to injured teammate Robbie Maisch.

Weekend Update

Hello NPSC -

What a great weekend for soccer! This weekend, NPSC had plenty of games and the opening of the Skills Development Program. It was a busy weekend for sure. Some highlights include:

U10 Boys Spurs had a great season opener with a 6-0 win! Some very nice play, but still some things to work on.  Come on ya Spurs!

U10 Girls Power the girls played a great game saving a tie 2-2 in a very hot game against Summit Sky, we played the first half with just one sub and one girl left for the second half leaving the team without subs, then one girl got a little sick due the weather.

U11 Boys Fire soundly defeated West Windsor-Plainsboro 07 White, 7-1 in their home opener.  Six players contributed to the scoring, with one player scoring twice.  Everyone on the team contributed with a solid performance.

U12 Girls Breakers won their season opener against Hopewell Valley 1-0 and afterwards received the trophies from last weeks 2nd place finish in the Piscataway Fall Classic tournament.

U15 Boys Cosmos opened their season with a well-played game vs Summit Peak FC. The Cosmos strong play resulted in a 3-1 win over their nearby rivals.

Weekend Update

NPSC had many teams hit the pitch this weekend to start the season. We had teams kicking off their season and teams playing in tournaments around the state. Some highlights include:

U10 Boys Spurs kicked off the season with the Bridgewater Tournament.  We had some good competition and the boys worked hard.  Go NP Spurs!

U11 Boys Rowdies opened their season with a well played game againse Roselle Park. Their strong play resulted in a 5-1 win.

U12 Girls Breakers took 2nd Place in the Piscataway Fall Classic. This is the second year in a row the Breakers have brought home a trophy.

U12 Boys Strikers Strikers won their season opener against Colonial 4-0.

U13 Boys Dragons participated in the 16th annual Essex Fall Tune-up tournament in West Orange and Livingston, NJ over the weekend. Since this is the team's first season playing 11 v 11 and on a full sided field, the goal for the tourney was to help the boys adjust to these changes and build confidence prior to the start of the regular season. The Dragon's finished the tournament with a strong 2-0 win over Livingston Hotspurs and just missed the finals after losing in a sudden death penalty shootout to eventual champion West Orange Real Madrid. Turnout by the New Providence parents was absolutely fantastic and their boys made them proud by their continued improvement with each game played and with their great sportsmanship.

U13 Boys Wolves won their game against Edison Chaves 3 - 0

U15 Boys Cosmos came away at the top of their group in the Bridgewater Kick-off Clasic. This was the second time in three years the Cosmos won their flight.

Be sure to check each week for a quick peek into how our teams are doing!
