About Us

New Providence Soccer Club

Since 1972 a group of dedicated volunteers have worked to promote the game of soccer for both girls and boys of New Providence. Over the course of the past 45+ years, NPSC has been the home of soccer in New Providence. We sponsor teams in various leagues to insure all players have a quality experience and play against competition suited to their abilities. Whether that be pure recreation or high-level Club Flighting teams. We begin our offerings in Kindergarten and continue through High School.

Our philosophy is to accommodate players of all skill levels and abilities. We offer all players who desire to play at a competitive level an opportunity to learn the necessary skills. We do encourage teams to be competitive but not at the expense of player development

Mission Statement: The New Providence Soccer Club is dedicated to the promotion and organization of youth soccer at both the recreational and competitive level. The Club is committed to the development of its players and coaches in order to allow them to reach their fullest potential and to instill sportsmanship and fellowship while developing a community spirit among all of its members. Our philosophy is to accommodate players of all skill levels and abilities. We offer all players who desire to play at a competitive level an opportunity to learn the necessary skills. We do encourage teams to be competitive but not at the expense of player development

Dave Snyder is a veteran coach with over 25 years of experience at the high school level and he is also the Director of Coaching and Player Development for the New Providence Soccer Club. During Dave's coaching at the high school level, the teams won the 2007, 2009, and 2019 state championships while earning the overall #1 ranking as the Star-Ledger "New Jersey Team of the Year" for two of those three titles. While serving as an assistant coach, teams earned five county championships, many conference championships, and has been ranked in the top ten in the country several times within the past 10 years. Following the 2015 high school soccer season, Dave was recognized by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America as the National Assistant Coach of the Year for the East Region. In 2018, Dave was inducted into the Seton Hall Prep Hall of Fame for the impact he has had on the program and for the passion he exudes for it.

Additionally, Dave has adapted the youth development program in New Providence to the US Youth Soccer and USC (formerly the NSCAA) player development standards and continues to develop the coaching acumen of the parent coaches in NPSC by running coaching clinics and disseminating the most current and effective soccer coaching methods. In 2018 Dave was interviewed on the European Football Coaching Podcast for his insights on player development and his experience with high school soccer. You can listen to that interview here
