Mission Statement

The New Providence Soccer Club is dedicated to the promotion and organization of youth soccer at both the recreational and competitive level. The Club is committed to the development of its players and coaches in order to allow them to reach their fullest potential and to instill sportsmanship and fellowship while developing a community spirit among all of its members.

Our philosophy is to accommodate players of all skill levels and abilities. We offer all players who desire to play at a competitive level an opportunity to learn the necessary skills. We do encourage teams to be competitive but not at the expense of player development

OUR GOALS:

  • To develop soccer players who possess well-rounded skills, a thorough understanding and an appreciation of the game.

  • To develop player character, discipline, dedication, respect, and talent on and off the soccer field.
  • To develop and train players with similar abilities together. Our desired result is the complete player, who will enjoy being an asset to the team.
  • To provide education and training for players, parents, and coaches. -To encourage goodwill and unity throughout the soccer community.

We cannot do this without quality coaching and NPSC is committed to providing that for our players. We require every coach to earn at least the NJYS F coaching license and while we encourage the coaches to raise their license level when possible, we expect that our coaches continue their professional development by following the guidance of the Director of Player Development and by refining their trade as a parent soccer coach. Players who select the activities in which they take part, have an intrinsic desire to learn from their coaches and we expect our coaches to constantly learn their trade while they set appropriate examples for the players. Coaches are required to first and foremost demonstrate good parental judgment. Soccer is secondary to demonstrating appropriate judgment and values.

We will always remember that we are training children and that will govern our decisions.
